It supports new self-developed multi-frame noise reduction MFNR and HDR photography technology, super night mode for enhanced low-light photography, 4K high-definition video recording, FaceID smart unlocking, AI scene classification, gesture photography, and other features.

Unisoc: A Mature and Complete 5G Product Series

In December last year, Dr. Ren Qiwei, Executive Vice President of Tsinghua Unigroup and CEO of Unisoc, mentioned in a speech that Unisoc has developed a mature and complete series of 5G products in areas such as mobile phones, the Internet of Things, and automotive electronics. These products provide important technical and product solutions for the global scale deployment of 5G. Unisoc's 5G chips empower over a hundred industry applications worldwide, with commercial implementations in vertical fields such as smart unmanned warehouses, smart power, smart parks, smart mining, smart healthcare, financial payments, sharing economy, and industrial IoT.

Currently, the development of 5G has entered a new phase, with continuous evolution of 5G standards. 5G-Advanced (5G-A) is considered to bring new momentum and value to the global economy and industrial transformation. Unisoc actively participates in defining the R18 standard and continues to explore technologies in the field of 5G-A. It is pioneering new opportunities in areas such as integrated sensing and communication, full-duplex, passive IoT, and satellite internet, providing multidimensional system support for the diverse and boundary-less era of future 6G.

Looking ahead to 6G frontier technologies, Unisoc has initiated pre-research on 6G technology and is involved in the development work of the national 6G technology advancement group. It is deeply engaged in basic research on 6G, key technology breakthroughs, and standardization efforts. Recently, Unisoc released a new 6G white paper, actively envisioning the blueprint for the ubiquitous integration and development of future 6G. Unisoc is willing to work with industry partners to build a foundation with 5G, continue innovation, consolidate the development of the 5G industry ecosystem, and jointly promote the successful commercialization of 6G in the future. As a world-leading platform-based chip design company, UNISOC relies on the strategic guidance and resource support of the new UNI Group, adheres to technological innovation as the core, deeply cultivates advanced technologies such as 5G-A and 6G, and strives to enhance product and technological capabilities. It strengthens the company's core competitiveness, promotes the company's leapfrog development, creates value for the industry and society, and illuminates happy lives with the light of technology.

UNISOC High-Performance 5G SoC Mobile Platform T820

In December 2022, UNISOC officially released the high-performance 5G SoC new product T820 with system-level security. It features an octa-core CPU architecture, 6nm EUV advanced process technology, a financial-grade fully integrated security solution, 5G dual-card dual-standby, and stable high-speed 5G connectivity. Additionally, it includes a 108-megapixel high-definition camera, FHD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate display, 4K 60 frames per second high-definition video recording and playback, HDR10+ high-definition standard, and 8 TOPS AI computing power, among other excellent features, continuously enhancing 5G capabilities.

The UNISOC T820 adopts a 1+3+4 tri-cluster octa-core CPU architecture, consisting of 1 main frequency of 2.7GHz Arm Cortex-A76 core, 3 main frequencies of 2.3GHz Arm Cortex-A76 cores, and 4 main frequencies of 2.1GHz Arm Cortex-A55, supporting up to 3MB of L3 cache for further performance improvement. The T820 is equipped with an Arm Mali-G57 MC4 GPU, with a running frequency of 850MHz.

Built with 6nm EUV advanced process technology and combined with AI intelligent adjustment technology, the T820's power consumption in certain scenarios is reduced by 40% compared to UNISOC's first-generation 5G mobile platform. At the same time, the LPDDR4X memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory used by the T820 achieve lower power consumption design and smarter real-time temperature control, providing performance support for gaming applications while keeping power consumption at a lower level.

The T820 uses AI noise reduction and Smart PA intelligent power amplifier technology, providing users with a clearer call experience while giving portable devices such as smartphones and tablets richer bass and better sound quality, especially without exceeding the speaker's tolerance, thus increasing the average volume of the terminal. Based on UNISOC's innovative digital audio zoom technology, it can automatically adapt to image zoom actions, accurately suppress environmental noise, and amplify the sound of the recorded object, providing users with a professional recording effect that integrates vision and hearing. Equipped with a low-power voice wake-up system, it will better empower voice assistant applications.

In terms of benchmark scores, the T820 scored 2857 points in the single-core GeekBench 4 test, comparable to the MediaTek Dimensity 820, Kirin 810, and Snapdragon 765G, and 8410 points in the multi-core test, surpassing the Snapdragon 765G and approaching the Kirin 810.

The GeekBench 5 test scores 639 points in the single-core test, essentially equivalent to the MediaTek Dimensity 820, Kirin 820, and Snapdragon 750G; the multi-core score is 2283 points, which is roughly on par with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 and Samsung Exynos 9820, slightly lower than the Kirin 820.

The GFXBench 5 T-Rex, Manhattan 3.0, and Manhattan 3.1 1080p off-screen test results are 88FPS, 55FPS, and 37FPS, respectively, surpassing the Snapdragon 765G and Kirin 980.

ZTE's Nubia Neo 5G, released in 2023, is equipped with the UNISOC T820 chip.
